DANVILLE, Ky. – A pastor accused of a triple murder inside a Danville pawn shop pleaded guilty in Boyle Circuit Court Friday morning

Former Pulaski County Pastor Kenneth Allen Keith was accused of fatally shooting Kenneth and Angela Hockensmith, the owners of ABC Gold, Games and More, and gold broker Daniel Smith on Sept. 20, 2013.

As the shootings occurred, the couple’s young son and daughter hid inside the store.

Keith was arrested a few weeks after the crimes and charged with three counts of murder, robbery and burglary.

WKYT-TV reports members of the Hockensmith family, including the couple’s son, filled the courtroom along with Daniel Smith’s family.

Keith’s attorney made several motions to suppress evidence in the case, all of which were denied, then entered the guilty plea.

Keith could have faced the death penalty if convicted at his Aug. 10 trial. With the plea, prosecutors recommended life in prison without the possibility of probation or parole, and the judge agreed with that sentence.
