KBC, Clear Creek partnering on Master’s degree for 6 students

Posted

PINEVILLE, Ky. (KT) - Clear Creek Bible College has partnered with the Kentucky Baptist Convention to provide a tuition-free Master’s degree to six students.

The regional consultants of the KBC will be selecting the students. Those who are interested in this tuition-free offer should contact their regional consultant.

This Master’s degree is not your traditional classroom-based degree, but rather it is a competency-based degree. This degree is based around 10 competencies. The student must show competence in such areas as biblical exposition, preaching/teaching, biblical counseling, worship leadership, church administration, and other areas. The mastery of these competencies will take place in the field, not in the classroom.

Preachers will be preaching, teachers will be teaching, and counselors will be counseling. The student will be able to communicate with their mentor and professors through an online platform.

The scripture says in Proverbs 27:17 that “iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” When one uses a knife they want it to be sharp in order to do the job it was meant to do. The scripture says “iron sharpens iron” because a knife cannot sharpen itself and cannot be sharpened by a material that is weaker than itself; it takes iron. As one pursues this degree, they will be sharpened by a mentor who is qualified to give ministerial mentorship so that the student will be further equipped to do what God called them to do.
