Michelle Chitwood part of National Adoption Day event Saturday


LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) – Michelle Chitwood, the wife of IMB President Paul Chitwood, will be one of the panelists for the National Adoption Day virtual event called “Happily Ever After” that is sponsored by the Jefferson County Family Court on Saturday morning at 10.

Michelle and her husband served as foster parents for four years before adopting through Sunrise Children's Services. She taught Kentucky public schools for 20 years.

Also on the panel will be Jerricho and Mercedes Cotchery, who are both strong advocates of adoption, are also featured. Jerricho is a former NFL player and his wife is a writer and nationally known speaker. They both use their platforms to discuss adoption and how they adopted their five children.

Natalie Chavis Fisher, a best-selling author, third generation attorney and executive producer for the feature documentary “Foster Care: Perfect Imperfection” is also on the panel. She has practiced foster care adoption for 20 years and has helped tens of thousands of foster children legally solidify their “forever homes.”

Jefferson County Family Court Judge Derwin Webb will be the moderator.
